Manohar Natarajan

Born in 1957, N.Manoharan completed his Master of Fine Arts at The Government College of Arts & Crafts in Chennai. He is a recipient of the State Level Student Award (presented by the Lalit Kala Akademi in Chennai).  The fact that Manoharan is a natural when it comes to sketching is seen in the casual strokes he makes in dry pastals & charcoals. He captures the rural life of Tamil Nadu in all its rustic charm & simplicity. Most endearing however, is his humility despite all the talent he possesses & the recognition he has received. Collectors of Manoharan’s artworks include the Modern Art Gallery (New Delhi),the Chennai Airport Authority, the Indian Overseas Bank (Chennai), Hotel Royal Park in Thiruvavur, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Art Society, and many private art appreciators in the U.S.A.  Manoharan till recently, was Principal at the Government College of Fine Arts, Chennai.During his tenure, he has encouraged many young artists to seek and attain recognition in the field of art, and therefore there are many young talents in Chennai, who are eternally grateful to him.

Milind Nayak:

Milind Nayak is one artist who wants his paintings as close to reality as possible, for, he believes art should mirror reality. He is drawn by the vitality and exuberance of the nature. He wants to depict the glory of nature as he sees it, rather than wanting to alter its appearance. His trip to Vermont USA saw the start of an even more productive phase in his life, which resulted in a body of 40 paintings which he painting on camping trips on the spot. Milind is an artist who is driven by his own tradition evolved through his own history. Milind has depicted his experience in the Capital in his book, ‘Parts of me’. The book is a compilation of his work over the years. It features photographs, drawings, poems along with scribbles from the eighties onwards. He slipped into photography between 1983 and 1993. His work with colour copiers led him to new possibilities. He had his first solo show of digital monoprints in 1996, which was a success. Milind paints in all media- acrylics, oils on canvas, oil pastel, soft pastel and even drawings in pen and pencil. Nature is the predominant theme in most of his works.
